A long time ago around the very first Christmas when the first trees were decorated and put up to celebrate there lived a poor family. This family did not have much as it was, but somehow they made sure they were able to have a tree in there home to celebrate. this family was loving and shared the home with not only other people who needed a place to stay for the cold winters weather, they also shared their home with another family. a small family, a family so small that if you were not looking for them you would never see them. a family of spiders. now the mother of the family of spiders saw this big family setting up the tree and thought that this tree was so beautiful. not only was this tree beautiful it looked like it would be the perfect home for her family of spiders. so late at night when the big family was asleep the mother spider moved her little family into the tree. and as spiders do she started making a web. when she was done she stood back and became sad as her web made the tree look old, dark and scary. this tree was not as beautiful now as it was before they moved in. she thought to herself how upset the mother of the big family will be when she wakes up and sees the tree. she started to cry. an angel saw the spider crying and she came down to ask what was wrong. the mother spider looks at the angel and said the tree was so beautiful before we moved in. now im afraid my family and i have destroyed it and the mother of the big family will be upset with me. The angel saw that the spider was sincere and wanted to help. so using her magic she made the web glitter with silver. the spider looked up and saw how beautiful the angle had made the web in the tree and was so excited. It was once again so pretty. the mother of the big family woke the next morning to find the tree more beautiful than it was before they had gone to bed. she saw that they had the most beautiful tree in the town and could not be happier. she saw the spider and offered her to stay with her and her family for the rest of their days. and that my friends is the story of how tinsel came to be.
