Wrapping Gifts... love it or hate it??

I think that there are probably people who love it and are really good at it lol. Not me. I'm terrible. I never seem to cut the paper to the right size! And then you see the people at the mall who are actually paid to wrap people's gifts. Now there is a job that I wouldn't want!! Have you ever had someone wrap your gift at the mall?? How did it turn out? Did they do a good job??

I guess that's why gift bags are so popular . My mom was not particularly creative, but she was always nice and neat with gift wrapping . . . so I like to think I picked that up from her. But I like to be creative with wrapping too - that's part of the fun. I don't have others wrap the gift - maybe I'm weird that way but doing it myself makes me feel like I put love into it .

@Hate2Iron I figure people are going to rip it all up in 2 seconds . . . so as long as the gift looks completely covered . A nice big shiny bow and tons of curly ribbon always helps .

I certainly want the gift to look impressive... just doesn't happen for me!! It looks as if a six year old wrapped it.

I love it! I love wrapping gift, make them creative and personalize. I only hate when wrapping gift when it is 4ft height, I can't manage to do it by myself. I just want normal sizes. And if I'm lazy to wrap, i will just make paper bag out of it.

Couldn't agree more. I hate the long rolls. You cut what you think you need and it's always way too much or it wasn't enough! You end up wasting sooo much paper!

@Hate2Iron I think, it still depends on a person whether if its their hobby or interest.

If it's a free service, I'd probably have the mall people wrap the gift for me so that I don't have to mess with it... But if I have to pay for it, I'd rather do it myself even if it might not turn out as pretty...

I agree, if they wanted to do it out of the goodness of their hearts, I would probably go with it. But the gifts are so expensive these days... I'm surprised that we simply don't hand them the gift!

I have little sense of spatial relations,,,and have always been terrible at gift wrapping. This year I am sending one of my gifts via Amazon who will do the gift wrapping...yay! I could do better at wrapping then I do, I am a bit lazy of course.

I'm not sure if I ever liked it. I guess when the kids were little, they never noticed what the wrapping looked like. I liked them back then lol!

I've seen high school children wrapping presents in malls and they did a much better job than I did. :)

@Hate2Iron Did you know I started a 'thick' club here? Maybe we need a 'can't wrap gifts' group as well. :)

Nope nope, each time I wrap gifts they look like they were mauled by a lawn mower. I try so hard to make it all pretty but..Nope. I just suck. haha! The people that can wrap well must know witchcraft or something because it is crazy how well they do it.
