Hi guys, for those of you who read my other posts about the wee birds hitting the window here is my first attempt at solution. (apart from not washing the windows again lol). I also posted about these and other shells found up the mountain

That's a good idea. Do you think it is working?

No, we had another wee bump while I was actually sitting at the window. Nearly jumped out of my skin with the bang lol. sorted it now though, I have left the curtain partially drawn until the window gets dirty again lol

The theory Jane Z is that they recognize the 3d of the shells instead of thinking it is simply a 'hole' they can fly through. That is my understanding anyway. All my fault. I'm on a housesit up a mountain and I wanted clearer views of the garden and the birds as they feed. So I washed and polished the glass and the way the light hits this window it looks like it's a hole right through the room to another window. That's my take on it Jane. I could be being completely bird brined about it but that I my theory. What does everyone else think? Thanks for the question Jane Z Oh and the shells? just because I had them, it could be anything.

Is it working? We have tried a few things. silhouettes of predator birds in the windows, a plastic crow positioned in front of the window. Nothing has worked.

oh, it is just a bunch of snail shells I drilled holes into and strung up in the hope the birds will recognise the glass. hoping to let them know they cannot fly through the space they see.
