Does famous quote "Be Honest to Yourself" technically sustain??

Got a quote at Whatsapp messenger from one of my friend substantiating "Being honest to yourself". I was little confused regarding its acceptance as it does not survive technically as one is always or by default honest to himself/herself. One can not hide anything from himself/herself. Being false to himself/herself is not possible. You can never conceal anything from yourself. Even if when you lie or pretend false, your conscience knows it. Thus in my view being honest to yourself is a default trait and its enforcement or advise via quotes does not survive technically.
However on other side, I am also aware of the fact that every famous quote possesses deep philosophy/meaning in it which I am not able to decipher. I shall feel obliged & thankful, if my dear mylotians can help me in cracking or interpreting the quote "Be honest to yourself" from their valuable discussions duly illustrated with practical situations/examples/incidents. :))))

I support your views that we are always honest to ourselves, we just cannot deceive ourselves, it is simply not possible.
I feel in the names of quotes and sending messages, people device any kind of quote and sometimes these quotes do not hold true in real life.
