Greek Philosopher Heraclitus wrote: There is nothing permanent except change. I agree that change is the only permanent thing not just in our world but in the whole universe.
Lots of my friends asked how could change be permanent when things keep changing? Before I write what I understand about change, I would like to hear or read your explanations or analysis of Heraclitus' quote first.

Everything is changing. From the moment of conception, people change. They develop into people and are born and then constantly changing. Everything around us changes, too. It has been that way since the beginning of time so it is permanent.

@JudyEv It is tricky . . If you don't analyse it deeply it is hard to explain. A friend of mine insisted that change is not permanent because things are always changing.

@magallon So, in other words - - As long as there are things on earth and in the whole universe, we can never stop them to change. The weather alone keeps changing. Even Donald Trump keeps changing his mind except his hair. Trillion of things in the universe keep changing. There are always things to change till the end of time, when there are not a single thing to change; so, change will always be, hence, it is permanent. Everything ends . . except change.
O boy, I got to change my diaper!

There may be some of things which are considered permanent, however, "change" is not static. Change means - an act or process through which something becomes different. Therefore, what Heraclitus said is - what we see today may change tomorrow and this happens without fail, so it is not permanent.

People change, time change, eventing changes every second. And that is the only thing I can count on to be permanent. The only thing I know that's certain to change is change. But the rest could never be permanent.

Heraclitus was right, nothing endures everything changes, every day, every minute, every second. Changes are permanent because you can stop the time, everything move on and any instant of your life is different, it's a change from the previous moment. So changes are permanent.

Time passes, change. We age, change. The earth turns, more change. Change is a constant.

@MorelyHunt I know everything is changing. But you are just explaining the word change . . you have to explain the whole quote. How could change be permanent when things keep changing? This was the question of lots of my friends.

@acelawrites LOL . . . Don't think about things that keep changing. . Just think of nothing except the word change. Why it is permanent.

@Ayunny . . . You got it! Lots of people just take notice of the word change . . and so they give examples of change. They ignore the word "permanent" which is key word.
