Celebration is Over

Today is our older son's birthday. I wished him a happy birthday today and posted it on Facebook, although he doesn't use social media. We gave him his gift when he was here over one week ago. We also had a birthday cake. He will celebrate with his wife and children tonight. He doesn't like to make a big deal out of his birthday. We can't join him, because we have to return Doodle, the cat, to my younger son's house. We will then celebrate in spirit when we go out for a goodbye dinner. Do you celebrate birthdays?

We always go out to dinner on birthdays. The birthday person chooses the restaurant and gets a free evening out for their birthday present. We don't usually buy birthday gifts for each other. Happy Birthday to your oldest son. He is a handsome young man. He looks like his Dad.

Thanks so much. Both my boys look like their dad, right down to the shape of their nails! We always try to celebrate as a family by going out for a nice dinner. My husband always picks up the tab. We also give gifts, usually big checks to the kids. I don't need or want gifts, but they won't listen to me!!!!

Our family is big on birthdays and since we're such a large family there always seems to be a birthday cake around. Happy birthday to your son and love the picture

My husband doesn't like celebrating his birthday much. He says it's just another day. I always tell him the kids will be disappointed if we don't celebrate. I try to make everyone's birthday special. =)

Happy Birthday to your son! We don't really celebrate birthdays in a big way... most of the time it will be just our immediate family having dinner together...

Thank you! We usually just do dinners, too. I certainly don't broadcast my age either! Lol!

@DianneN My sister likes to broadcast her age... She just turned 50 and proudly displayed her most recent photo with a huge '50' sign as her profile picture all over her social media... I think she likes the comments on how she looks not a day older than 40...

We celebrate everyones birthday. I like to wish happy birthday to everyone for a full week. So if it's your birthday expect from me to help celebrate it for atleast a week per person. My mom's is on the 11th. I've already started telling her happy birthday and saying things like i know what your present is. Ha ha ha ha!!! What a tease but actually they know i have them on my mind before, during, and after!!

Happy birthday to your son! I find that he does look like you, in this picture. We do tend to celebrate birthdays in my family. We do throw birthday parties for our kids. My husband and I will do a little something for ours. But nothing huge, generally.

Thank you! Do you really think he looks like me? My granddaughter looks like him, so perhaps she looks like me, too! I'm sure you throw parties for your kids and love every minute doing so! I'd really prefer a small family dinner and no gifts for my birthdays, but no one listens to me! Lol!

@DianneN yeah, I can see some resemblance between the two of you. Your granddaughter may look like as well, if she looks like your dad. I definitely enjoy the parties we have for our kids. They're very special events.

Happy birthday to your oldest son! Yes we do celebrate birthdays! For us and the kids, we celebrate on the day of our birthdays . . . mostly likely with a restaurant pick and cake at home. And on a weekend when my side of the family can all get together, we celebrate a birthday month day . . . again at a restaurant or at my parents house with cake.

We celebrate with whoever is around. My birthday is in June, so it's iffy who will be able to appear. My husband's birthday is next week. It will just be the two of us out for dinner. I certainly don't want him to have to cook on his big day! Lol!

Thank you! He celebrated with his wife and kids in New York City with a low key dinner after work. I celebrated it after dropping Doodles off and going out for pizza with our younger son and his fiancée in Connecticut. We left the next morning for Florida. Crazy life!

I try to celebrate when time allows. There are days when you just don't have the time to do much more than to call your loved one and wish them a happy birthday. I still have a gift for my son that I have had since August and haven't presented it to him. LOL. Maybe I will wrap it for Christmas.

At least , he got a gift from you . Birthdays are always celebrated here by the Filipinos . Usually , we will buy or prepare sauteed noodles , because it denotes long life , and some other foods if we have a lot of budget . It's our one way , of celebrating life or another year that was .
