I am not very interested in it since I prefer to have the practical lamps. Besides, I remember I ever watched Myth Busters and they found that in some situations the lava lamps can cause some accidents.

I remember that episode of Mythbusters. Some guy left his on the stove and it blew up, sending a piece of glass into is chest, killing him. I had one in my early twenties. I can't remember what I did with it, but I kept it away from any heat, and never left it plugged in when I wasn't around.

My son loves watching Mythbusters, and therefore this is why I will also watch some of them. Unfortunately this wonderful TV series is ended

@youless Do you remember the younger three: Kari, Grant, and Tory? Netflix is starting a new show called White Rabbit to premiere December 9th with those three hosting. It's supposed to be in the same vein as Mythbusters, so I bet it's good.

@youless They are not meant to be lamps to see with but are more decorative.

We do not use any lava lamps. We use lights and real lamps instead.

Those lamps were popular in the 70's, we received one as a gift for our marriage. It's a long time we gave it away, they become annoying after a certain time.

@youless The lava lamps arrived on the market in the late 60's, they were seen as something futuristic and psychedelic. I cannot understand how they can be of any interest in our days.

We actually have one somewhere in the garage . . . my sister gave it to us after she didn't want it anymore as she thought the kids might like it. It is neat to watch, but it can get VERY hot and a touch of that glass could burn you.
