Do you ever watch the movie THE JOY LUCK CLUB?

Today I watch the movie THE JOY LUCK CLUB, it remind me thinking of my mother and my grandmother. They both suffered from pains in their different period life. they always tell me stories about thier early experience, even if this story I have heard many times. Nevertheless I still listen to their repeating patiently...

Yes! That was more of Chinese and Chinese-American culture, but I could totally relate as a Japanese-American.

Maybe the Japanese and Chinese are both Asian, and you can't distinguish them just from appearance. But the Mahjong is the most feature of Chinese.

@Liaoyue Well - not by the appearance of the people, but certainly by costume, speech, history, food, etc that we see in the movie. One of the ladies in the movie is Japanese-American (the Waverly character).

Yes, I watched this movie a number of years ago. Based on the Amy Tan book.

Oh yes, but I haven't read the book, I learn this story just by the movie. I heard that the book was popular as a best-seller in America.
