Laundry and Christmas Shopping

It's been a great and fantastic day today. I woke up super charged and ready to get up and go and get as much done as I could. My plan was to be out of the house by 7:30 AM - that didn't work. I needed to eat and do my Bible Study before I did anything.
I picked my son's laundry up yesterday and told him I would have it back to him by noon today. That didn't happen either, though I was close - sort of. He called me about noon when the clothes were still in the dryer. I got back to him by 1:30 and then went shopping. He finally told me what he wanted for Christmas, and being the kind, thoughtful mother that I am, I got him everything on his list - two items. I also finally settled on something for my oldest and my daughter and son in law, so everybody is covered.
Now it's after 4 PM and I've been gone for six hours, though it doesn't feel like it. I also found all the stuff I wanted to trim my tree, so I'll take care of that either tonight or tomorrow, we'll see. I also need to get everything wrapped before someone comes over and sees everything lying around my living room.
I even found a couple Christmas shirts for myself. Most of them weren't in my size, so I have some nice shirts, not wacky ones for Christmas, though I was looking at those as well, but couldn't find any in my size. I also found a Christmas mug I couldn't resist.
That has been my day. How was your day? Did you do anything exciting? Thanks for reading.

I'm glad you woke up feeling refreshed! It sounds like you got a lot finished! I'm slowly working on my Christmas shopping; I ordered my niece something last night and it got here today, so I'm almost finished with her. Oooh, a new Christmas mug sounds great; perfect for some hot chocolate! :D

Such a good mom. Nothing exciting here except the weather news and snow.

@just4him ......Yes, that wind chill factor can really do a lot to the temp.

@celticeagle I saw on the weather channel this morning that the country is in an arctic blast all the way down to Florida with temps well below normal for the next few days. When I looked at my temps, they were low, but manageable, and we've got snow headed our way for the next three days, none today though.

My life is boring, I am from a Christian sect that doesnt celebrate Christmas..... I just secretly visit my friends from other religions so I can have Christmas dinner.... I remember being a kid being jelous of my Catholic friends because they have Christmas decors in their house.

@averygirl72 I am from a much more different and more strict sect but I do not want to talk about it.

I'm so sorry you don't celebrate Christmas. I can't imagine being a Christian and not doing so.

You got a lot accomplished. My main activity was accompanying my College age son to an appointment to set up to have his wisdom teeth taken out. It is scheduled to take place on March 6th at the beginning of his Spring Break from School. He dreads it, but it must be done because two of the wisdom teeth are impacted.

@just4him They indicated that they were filled this month. Plus our Dental Insurance is maxed out for this year. Since he is in college, it is best to wait to Spring Break and they said it would be ok to do it in early March.

@LeaPea2417 Darn the insurance. I'm glad they feel it's okay to wait that long.

I have had a lazy day. I cooked an easy lunch (roasted chicken) that will be in my table for several days. I picked some apricots and ate them. There are not enough for jams yet. Did some mylotting, took a nap and half watched boring TV programs.

That sounds a fun day. I spent the morning in a place called Age UK where the Blackheath library is. Rather nice as I could use a computer free and get photocopying done free. Then I collected Noah from Nursery and we made the Christmas wreath and put lights on a table tree I brought with me. After that we made tree decorations from salt dough.
Both of us had fun.
Then to my delight, my daughter came and watched T.V with me. It was good to see her feeling just a little better. Thank God.

Quiet days are nice days. Just add some snow while you're writing those cards and it's a perfect day.

I apparently need more cold weather stuff, and I had someone else ask me what I wanted today, thankfully I have an amazon list, lol

This resonates with me - today is laundry day and I think I'll be wrapping gifts afterwards. I enjoy the scent of fresh clean laundry in the house.
