I Could Have Died, Been Kidnapped or Worse

Have you ever been in a close call where you could have died, been abducted or in some kind of other dangerous situation? I have been in a couple of serious auto accidents. One was when I was a teen and setting in the front seat with my girlfriend and her boyfriend was driving. He went around a curve too fast and we spun around. We had a beer can in the front seat and went around so fast that the can opened. None of us were hurt. Second one was when I was in my late twenties. My boyfriend at the time came to pick me up from work. He was driving his roommate's sports car. He got into a race with a purple Barracuda. There was a cloud burst and the car went out of control and went into a vacant lot. I was thrown from the car, had a concussion. He remained in the car but the metal around the rag top cut him and he had a brain stem injury. He never regained consciousness. Was in a coma for nine days and then he died of a cardiac arrest. When I was with the carnival I worked for a pretty scuzzy individual for a few weeks when I needed to get away from my regular working arrangement due to some problems. One evening a ex-boyfriend came over and asked to talk to me. He told me I needed to get out of there and fast. He had over heard my boss at the time talking about kidnapping me and selling me over the border. We were in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the time. I believed him. I went back over to the other side of the midway and was lucky to get my previous job back. So thankful to my ex when later in life I have heard of such horror stories of young girls being abducted and made to become sex slaves and such.

Your angels were taking care of you. I've had only one incident that I recall clearly when not only I, but my whole family, could have been killed.

Yes, they were. Well, I guess you aren't going to share. You made it out okay it would seem.

I can imagine you working in a carnival. A Hereford bull about did me in when I was a teenager. My little dog saved me. That was a very close call.

I enjoyed traveling with the carnival. What an adventure! I was stepped on by a horse once. Ouch! Glad your dog was paying attention.

@celticeagle Me, too. I was that close to the end that I asked God for help then Laddie dove at the bull's nose and his mad barking got my Dad over to help.

I have had a relatively boring life. You really have had some adventures haven't you? You have a lot to be thankful for, someone is watching out for you and keeping you safe.

I did not have anything that bad happen to me. But once my friend and I had these boys chasing us in the car behind us and they started shooting at us. We were lucky a police car was behind them in the next lane and they got pulled over. We left and turned real quick.

wow those are some scary stories. What a terrible story about the boyfriend in a coma. I know it must have torn you up at the time and is most likely still painful.

It was so sad. He was a dear person. I remember fixing a bouquet of carnations with a blue and pink one in the center.
