Holiday Craze

Canada

Does anybody else both love and hate the holiday season? I find myself loving the idea of it, but hating actually partaking in any of it. It just stresses me out. I personally celebrate the Winter Solstice, or Yule, but for the sake of my step son, we celebrate Christmas and follow the tradition of opening presents and whatnot. I don't mind, mostly because I'll get to see his face light up. What's your take on the season? What do you celebrate?

It seems many love and hate most holidays. It can be an inconvenience and a huge expense for some.

I love this season now that I'm celebrating it like I wish. I don't bake anymore and I don't go out in frenzied shopping sprees. I don't spend a lot of money. I gave my Christmas cookie recipes to my DIL and if she wants to make them, great. If not, big deal. I've let go of a lot of traditions in order to take the stress out of the season and enjoy it. It was hard but I do like it better. I always bake a birthday cake for Jesus although I think I will buy one this year. I just can't move around very well.

I share your feelings; the joy mostly escapes me.

I love the baking and cooking. I even do crafts with my son. I do get frustrated when it comes to shopping. Way to many rude people out there when everyone is doing the same thing.

Yeah, see, I get some of the joy back this year because I have a young step son to celebrate with again.

@RiggsMortis there are so many crafts you can make from things at home like toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls
