MyLot Earnings Disclosure

If you’ve ever had a formal job/business or been close to someone who has, you already know that in some circles, it is deemed taboo to discuss earnings. Some sites will post how much their users are earning as a way to attract and retain new traffic while others will discourage them from doing so.
Being new here, I’m not really the guru (favorite word for online money seekers) to be commenting on the discussions we post or whether our parent, Mylot, should let others see how much users earn. Hmmm, would I like that or not? Food for thought. Anyways, I digress.
I have been seeing quite a number of us sharing how much they’ve earned so far or their goals/how far they are from reaching them. It made me wonder whether it is a positive or negative aspect to share.
I work as middle management for one of the biggest cellular service providers in U.S. and we all flaunt our bonuses when we make them. We however, never share our base salary even between peers who have the same title on their desk as that is a whole different Harry Potter novel.
In my very first post, (you should check it out as I was only asking for tips on choosing a profile picture), I stated that I want to earn $30 a month. I broke it down to a dollar a day for doing nothing. Exit stage left, wait for suggestions to roll in, cut to scene 2, enter boy fell in love with Mylot.
One user wished me good luck making $30 a month. I wondered, “Is it that hard to reach a dollar a day?” Draw curtains & switch to private messaging. I found out a lot of Mylotters struggle to reach $5 simply because it is up to interaction. Well, that is the perplexing part. If it is simply interaction, we should all be “Become a Guru Making Money Online”! I was like, this is hopeless.
Then I started seeing the interaction grow and a lot of comments on “other discussions” with how much Mylotters are earning/what their goal is for the month. It finally made sense; this site is about much more than the Benjamins. It can help you improve yourself, in whatever way you decide to let it.
My fellow Mylotters who are pilots, engineers, models, teachers, businessmen all sharing their goal of reaching $5 by the end of the month made me realize I was missing the point. Sharing their earnings with me, earnings made by sincere unbiased effort at interaction, made me yearn for interaction without the earnings. I can say I am gob smacked by the value of a cent. I suddenly realized human interaction has no price or equal. The earnings keep going up without any real eye on the “prize” while the interaction makes my life better day by day. So yes, share share share your earnings and goals. Encourages, enlightens, guides, provides!
How about you, do you think you should share your current Mylot earnings & goals?
Boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Boy: Then you'll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

personally...since i have been on mylot since august...i seem to need no more motivation in terms of money. reaching payout seems to be good enough for me. Mylot will seem like a chore of I set a goal...i did that for one month...it didn't work.
But it is lovely place to interact for sure.

I don't think there is any harm in discussing it.
And moreover we all are here to enjoy and interact
Earnings are a complimentary bonus that keeps us consistent

Some times back, we were not allowed to discuss on such issues related to myLot, all other earnings related discussions were the top most, only promotion of referral links were not allowed and such discussions were alwaysdeleted.
This time it is properly open and people discuss all the earnings including myLot. However, no referral business is allowed even now.
Rest is open thing.

I generally avoid all discussions of how much someone is earning here. I guess I come from that type of background where it is not considered polite. Also, I find it extremely boring how many posts there are about how to make a little more. And the rules say no mile stone posts so I find some fit into that category. Any way it seems to be a popular subject. And this one caught me!

You'd think that earning a dollar a day would be easy. I've never even made 50 cents in a single day. The most I've ever gotten I think was forty cents and it was once this month. I don't mind sharing my earnings because they are not high. But still, not everyone likes when a person shares their earnings. They think that that person is gloating. But there is nothing to gloat about when the earnings are pretty low.

We share our earnings quite often here because its not all about the money. Interaction is what matters here
