I Joined Planet Fitness Last Month and Just Came Back

Several years ago I joined planet fitness and was pleased to find that I spent enough time there to make it worthwhile not only to my pocket book but to my body. I decided to join again this past November because they were offering a free sign up that was ending soon. I'm getting the lowest membership of ten dollars per month, but that means I can't use the massaging chair or sauna, or whatever room they have for those paying more.
I can use all their exercise equipment, though. The reason I joined is because I'm hoping it will help me be able to continue working until my knee surgery. I'm also hoping that it will help my leg and muscles heal quicker. In fact, a physical therapist was in my line yesterday and heard me discussing this with the customer in front of her. She said that it should impact my recovery in a postive manner.
Now that our window business is dying down, I'll also be working on doing some exercises that my mom got after her knee and hip replacements. I'm not doing any cardio at this time because my knee can't handle the up and down movements, but I'm hopeful that I can continue working out once my physical therapy is over with around May of next year.
The picture I took when doing what I call a modified bicycle exercise while laying down. Rather than doing the bicycle with my legs in the air as it's meant to be done, I'm doing it with my knees bent and bringing them near my chest and out again as if I'm riding a bike bent over. The pad on my left knee is a warming pad I was wearing last month.

Thanks, Crazy. I've been talking with those in the field of physical therapy and have been told that my recuperation time should be easier if I continue to do the exercises beforehand. My main reason will be to be able to work until the week before, but if I can benefit my after surgery time too, then all the better. Actually, I just remembered I was going to go there again today, but forgot. Maybe I'll do the leg lifts and such I got from my mom years ago instead.

Oddly enough, even the first day seemed to make a difference. I haven't gone for a week or so because of my fainting last week and hurting my hand. But I did go back this past Wednesday or Thursday for twenty minutes and again this morning.
Yesterday I began my exercises again before getting up.

Our area has a Planet Fitness as well. I don't think I will join, though. I am glad to hear that it is working out for you. Surgery is a big step and I hope it works out well for you.

I like your photo..and your thoughts. I go to they Y 5 days a week. It has turned me into a believer. Lost weight and I'm much stronger than I was. Also looking for knee surgery in the next year and doing all I can to make that easier. After the surgery I intend to be in rehab for about 4 months (3 days a week) but intend to shorten that time bu using the machines and the pool at the Y. 10 bucks a month is a great price!
