A friend of mine from Jakarta surprised me by being in town for a few days. We caught up with each other a bit over dinner the other day. She brought me some Indonesian goodies – enough for me to snack on for some time...
I got some fish balls crackers and cassava chips with ‘Keju’ or cheese flavor. They’re the ones sealed inside the clear plastic in my picture. The ‘Bapia Spesial’ is some round moon-cake like pastry filled with sweet green or mung beans paste. There is also some ‘Dodol’ (the long item in my picture) – a soft, sweet, and sticky confection with a toffee-like flavor and covered with sesame seeds...
The brown box contains some warm drink sachets called ‘Bajigur’. Its main ingredients are coconut milk and brown sugar. It also has some ginger which warms the body when one drinks the beverage. It is actually best for cold weather, something like having some hot chocolate drink in winter nights...

Indonesian food has similarities to Filipino foods like that "bapia" moon cake style, we have a similar product called " hopia", even the name sounds familiar.
It's nice to have a friend who gave you those goodies, yup its delicious, free food you can munch on.

Yum! I would like to try that beverage as the weather here has been unbearable cold! I didn't know that about ginger, maybe I can make my own concoction of a winter beverage with some to warm me up.

Ginger is very healthy for you too that's good! Chocolate is too but the sugar is not.

I am surprised she was able to get them through customs. We have seen some programmes here in the UK about customs at airports in Australia and they forbid people to bring so many foods into the country!
