The future of the “Call me” gesture

You all know the gesture of extending your thumb and pinky and holding your hand next to your head to indicate someone should call you. But nowadays, shouldn’t that indicate they should call you … on a landline? In this smartphone era, shouldn’t the gesture be holding your hand flat next to your head to more realistically emulate today’s phones?
