I'm stress working as a tutor

It's very hard work for me especially the kids I tutor are really slow. I repeat the facts 10 times they still don't remember. They don't want to memorize. Their mind gets confused easily. I think they are both slow learners. The other kid is so noisy and just wants to play and make some garbage of paper around the table. I'm so stress teaching the two kids. If I pressure them they get into a bad mood.
So I just take it easy. I do what I can if they don't get it I don't fret anymore.
I wish I find fast learners and more behave kids and those who are really serious in their studies. My pupils are both lazy students. I try not to stress myself too much. If I'm not effective it's never my fault. I do my best for them to learn. It's their fault.

Are you a teacher too. Yes, it requires a lot of patience. It really test my patience.

@averygirl72 I believe that it's better that you make them "SEE and remember", if you only talk to them, they will never remember.

I was a teacher of general education, special education, and taught at our university. There a a variety of techniques you can use to make learning more relative to their needs. You need patience, caring, and concern for your students. They have you to help them learn. It's not their fault they are the way they are. No one ever said that teaching was easy. Best of luck to you!

Thank you. Actually at times it's fun we are having fun learning but lately it gets stressful depending on their lesson or topic. Sometimes they don't like it or not interested.

@averygirl72 That is when you break the lesson down and make it more meaningful. Teaching can be so frustrating at times.

Maybe they are easy go lucky. I used to be lazy too when I'm a kid but when I like the lesson or topic I do really well.

@averygirl72 Don't be too hard on yourself. If they don't want to learn, they will reap the rewards of their behavior.

I love learning. To me is all fun! Am sorry to hear about your struggles. Is nice of you to even try so hard. I've found most people are willing to remain ignorant rather than put in the effort being a good student & citizens takes. Thanks for your contribution!

If you love learning you will be hardworking and serious in your studies. My students are not that excited to learn. They look at their studies as something to make their life hard

@averygirl72 I understand your frustration. I am very dedicated to my studies. I know most people don't get as happy as me to learn something new. I get sad that our society discourages being smart and promotes violence and ignorance instead. I thought the Internet was the cure until recently.
I can tell you. We need you to keep showing up for those kids. Thanks again. I am an ESL student now in college after Navy service.
I will say with honesty, education changed my life for the better in every way possible.

you have already talking about the profession that you are in i.e. you need a lot ofd patience in you and beside you should be a versatile person. I mean to say you always donot act as a tutor to them. Let them sometimes feel that you are their friend, a close friend with whom they can share their feelings. Children sometimes get nasty just because they cannot express their proper feeling to anybody or they are not listened by their parents and they want to drag your attention toward themselves. It may not be true in all cases but somewhat it is true. Also they are highly influenced by the environment at home where they are brought up. I know as a tutor you are taking care of them at your best level but may be it has no match with their habits. Try something new with them. Let them express in front of you what are they doing and why. And truly its really really hard to cope with the slow learners but in other hand if you can make some changes with such kids then you will be admired more than when you teach the fast learners because the fast learners always take the compliments all on themselves and let you not share your role of their success.

Yes that could be pretty tiring but think that these kids need you more since they are slow learners snd they are the very reason why you had been hired for the job

That's true. Parents send them to tutors to help them because their kids really need help and are having much difficulty with their studies. I just work hard to help them. I do whatever I can.

Really problematic. If you see their test papers there are so many wrong answers. Their test scores are low but I somehow help it get high a little bit last quarter. Now is exam day again.

@averygirl72 I hope there will be some more progress on the results for today's exam - even if it's just a small increase, progress is still progress...

I give them time to play if they want. Maybe I should try to teach them while having fun and enjoyment and less pressure
