This person just ruffles my feathers

So today I received an email from a colleague addressed to several of us working on the same floor. She said, "please cooperate by not using the 2 printers at my side as I need to print a lot of stuff today." To me it sounds like an order rather than a polite request and I really felt like shouting some obscenities at her. We are all here to work and can't we just give and take? What gives her priority to our office machines?

I think the way that she wrote the request is very rude. I have worked in a few large offices in the past and I can tell you that when someone is printing a lot of stuff to a printer that you tend to print it several times before being able to actually get a copy of your printed work. The reason is that when someone is printing a lot of stuff your page or few pages get mixed in with their large amount and it never seems to be found. They rarely will bring you, your few pages, it usually ends up in the trash or recycle bin. Just trying to think of another option, rather than she is just plain rude. ave a wonderful day!

I try to tolerate her, luckily this does not happen often or I will ever be so angry!

Yes, she should have told everybody in a much nicer way . Surely if i were in your stead , i would tell her that she doesn't own it and that everyone has to use it for their works too . She could have asked only for the one printer while the other printer are for the rest of you meanwhile she's finishing something rush on it .

Yeah and in the end I find that she is not using the machines much and yet she can "order" all of us not to use it.

@SIMPLYD Yes I did, I feel she has no right to monopolize the machines (even orally, so to speak)

Sounds bossy. Did anyone else feel the same way?

Yep that's it! And she just breeds a lot of resentment around her

At least she started it with 'please'... did she even end it with a 'thank you'?

I think she did....but in this case I feel her "please" and "thanks" are just added for formalities sake. What she really means is "back off and let me use it"!
