Good afternoon.Yes,what was the best advice. When I got married no one gave me any advice. Too bad that someone did not mentioned to me not to get married is the best advice I can give you not But for some the younger crowd here what was your best advice?

the best advice I got from my father was "don't do this he's the wrong guy for you". I didn't listen but years later it ended in divorce. My advice to anyone getting married now is make sure you really know the person you are marrying and remember you can't change anyone..they are who they are

All my family told me that I was too young, not to marry and wait. The best thing I did was not to listen. I am married from 45 years and would do this again.

When I was about to get married, my weeding dress half on, my mother came to me and said she wanted to tell me something very important. I freaked out! I thought the lady would talk to me about the bees and the pollen But she said that no matter if I did not have as much money as a friend, I should invite them back when I had been invited. I have done that all my life and I have wonderful friends. And money is no object.

@amadeo - I've been in several long term relationships, I've been with my girlfriend almost six years, but I've never married any of them.

My Dad told me to learn to do everything because when something goes wrong you will be home alone. And that was so true.

I was raised in a very strict family that did not believe in divorce, and if that came my way, it was well known that they wouldn't allow me to be a part of the family anymore. Nobody really gave us any advise, we just have always held tight to each other over the years and laughed and cried together.

@amadeo A lot of the way I treat people comes from the way that I was treated by my family, and then I do the opposite-because they can be very hurtful. I feel that divorce is a very private issue, between the husband and wife.

My mother told me to think 100 more times whether the person I'v choosen is the right and I can spend my life time with him or not... Then, only if you think he is the right person only get married to him. Because marriage is not something to break when ever we want

I am an Indian women, with respect to our culture I received a package of advice of which I would say is, marriage is an institution by itself. I suggest you must believe in.
