I miss roasted pig or we commonly call "Lechon" back home. I'll be missing the holidays back home for the 2nd time now. It is sad but i can't complain about it. The fact that i'm missing spending the Christmas and New Years with my family... i am also missing the delicious food in the table during Christmas Eve and Day meals! The home cooked meals! We have the 'pansit' which is noodles mixed with meat like chicken or pork with vegetables, adobo which is either chicken or pork cooked with soy sauce and vinegar and spicies, fish, local pastries and sweets. We rarely have alcohol but we have wine and softdrinks or sodas. This time, i'll have mostly asian food for Christmas!! Korean, Chinese and Filipino food!! Most of them has meat meat meat and more meat and also vegetables! I don't know the names of the korean dish but it will be delicious! We will start celebrating the Christmas parties and meals from the 23rd to the 25th. Have you decided what to cook for Christmas and New Year? What are your recipes? Are their any request in your food list?

I have to start baking cookies really soon, in the next couple of days. We are having lasagna on Christmas Eve when my whole family will be here. Then on Christmas when it's just me, hubby and our 2 sons it will either be ham or turkey. I have decided yet.

What kind of cookies are you baking? I like cookies! Chocolate chips or cookies and cream cookies! Yummm! Also ham and turkey are delicious! I think good food is bonus. What's more important is spending time with our families and loved ones. I'm sure you'll have a great holidays!

@therealmaryyy We haven't planned the menu yet but usually there is my hot cheese dip, maybe shrimp cocktail, wings, mini quiches and maybe pepperoni bread.

I would love to eat Asian food for Christmas! I have done so when I lived by myself but I generally gather with the family at my ex's house and his wife fixes a ham for Christmas. I really like ham and she makes it very tasty. Plus, I don't have to cook! She has a dishwasher so helping clean up isn't bad, either. I think your home cooked meals that you mentioned like the noodles sounds really delicious! Your info says you're from the UK, are you originally from elsewhere?
