Yes, mistakes put a lot of hurdles in front of us. But, only those people are successful in life who made thousands of mistakes. Because being successful was not important. Dying successful was. We know so many successful people of our respective countries. If you do research on them, you will find number of mistakes they did which were criticized by everyone. But what we remember now is that they were successful people because they faced everything bravely. Main thing to remember is that we should learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. So many successful politicians and actors are criticized for their weird comments. Only those people become successful who actually do small mistakes, but learn from them and doesn't repeat.
