He doesn't look old

My dog is getting older with the age related problems. He is over 16 years but still doing fairly well. When I told my son about the age related problems he was having my son remarked. "I can't believe he is that old, he just doesn't look old" That got me thinking. It is true, dogs don't age like humans do. My dog looks the same today as he did ten years ago. Of course he moves a bit slower but his looks are flawless. There are no gray hairs, no wrinkles. Has anyone ever thought of bottling whatever it is that makes our pets look ageless?

@Freelanzer ... The skin near mouth sags some.. at least it sagged in the dogs we've had in our family.

They do age, you just can't tell from the outside like with humans

He is a gorgeous dog @Freelanzer . And 16 is doing pretty darn good. Do you have him on a cortizone or glucosamine med to help with the bones and hip?

Thank you. No I don't give him anything for the bones. Do they work?

@Freelanzer It helps with their mobility and helps to avoid arthritis in the hip joints.

Yes you are so right my dos is just 3 years old but i know a lot of dogs and looking on them never can tell you what is their age i think this is not so good because when old people get older you see this on them and you know pretty much when they are going to die but when dogs get old they look the same and when they die this is so hard to look on them because they look like a 5 years old dog or even less

I agree. It is harder to see them go when they still look like your baby on the outside.
