I tried something new today!

I am something of a creature of habit. I think it reduces stress levels. I like my morning coffee. And a bowl of cereal. I rotate between three or four restaurants for lunch. And four or five choices for dinner. I work hard when I'm at work. I start progress notes at home. I do some woodworking. I grade papers. I play some guitar. I watch some sports. Today (Saturday), I tried something different for lunch. It must be because the Semester is over (except for grading) and I'm feeling pretty relaxed. I had an Indian lamb curry dish from Trader Joe's. Got it yesterday. All I had to do was pop it in the oven for 20 mins at 375 F. It was actually quite good! It's in the frozen dinner section at TJs, not far from my ritual Kun Pao Chicken. Rice is included. I didn't catch the price--probably around $3.50. I will grab another box next time I stop there. Have you done anything radical and new lately?

Does stopping to relax count ?

@TheHorse for a while. But as my motto is 'I'd rather wear out than rust out' I don't think there's much hope for me!

That sounds like a good one! I hope it becomes routine.

@TheHorse Sometimes we discover new good things to eat and other times we remember of something delicious that we forgot about.

each subbing day is something new, and I know adding in a bit of new is good for a person.

@TheHorse lol, is it to feel safe, or a caffeine addiction?

@Jessicalynnt Well, a little of both. On my second cup now.

Yep. But my routine makes me feel "safe." Having my ritual first cup of coffee right now. Means the world is still here and the sun is still rising.

Sounds like you enjoyed your frozen entree. A couple of weeks ago we finally used a gift certificate for a restaurant we couldn't normally afford to eat at and I ordered the smoked duckling. This is something I've never tried before. Mmm....it was delicious.

I am reporting you to my duck friends on the bike path. Watch your back. (I love duck, but I only have it about once a year.)

@TheHorse that was the first time I've tried duckling. Usually I opt for the safer option....chicken.

Mutton is grown-up sheep, right? I'm not sure that I've ever had it!

I do not think I am doing anything different. I am always trying new foods. Made a new cookie recipe tonight, does that count?

Not bad, though I am not a fan of lamb I didn't get the brown rice you got last time, I bought the Jasmine brown rice & it was pretty good (you have to prepare it in a rice cooker or the stove).

As far as Indian curry dish I seem to stick with butter chicken as the other sounds too spicy for me... Yeah, I'm not much of trying new things either...

The most radical thing I've done lately was wear my Tigger tie with a golf shirt for wacky-tacky day at school.

@TheHorse The kids loved the tie, but some didn't understand why wearing a tie with a golf shirt would be considered tacky.

That looks good. I'm glad you liked it and will be getting more. I've always liked lamb. Too bad we don't have a Trader Joe's here. No, I haven't done anything radical lately. Unless standing up for myself is being radical. I'm finding I'm doing that a bit more lately.

Assertiveness is always good. I even teach it in my psychology classes. "Standing up for your own rights without infringing on the rights of others." What were some of the situations? I'll look for a post about it!

@TheHorse I haven't written a post about it, but it was basically standing up to my sister regarding the holidays. I did write a post about how she pulled the rug out from under me for Thanksgiving, but it gave me the courage to stand up for myself and not back down.
