In Pursuit of Trivia

I’ve been pouring through all my notebooks in the last few days, getting ready for “Jeopardy night” for when I visit my son later this month. We can’t watch “Jeopardy” for the next two weeks, but he will record all the shows and then we will have fun trying to win the game. We have score cards and the winner gets to boast.
I have found in my notebooks all sorts of strange and odd trivia. I collect it from many sources. I’m reading from my notebooks instead of watching TV the half hour that “Jeopardy” is on.
I know you all probably think I’m a NUT and I admit it. I am a certified trivia NUT.
Here’s a few more things I found.
Did you know that 2/3 of U.S. Presidents were lawyers? That’s crazy, but it must mean something to the American public when they vote. On the other hand, Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson and Zachary Taylor never even graduated from elementary school.
This fact really caught my attention: Add up all the Americans who have died in an average year from tornadoes, earthquakes and floods and it usually totals less than 200 persons.
However, if you add up the number of people who live in cities, who die from the summer heat in a typical year and the total is about 1500. I’ve never heard that on a news broadcast.

And many of those lawyers never tried a real court case in their lives.

I'm sure that is probably true. Just having passed the bar makes a person a lawyer and looks good on any resume.

I must say you can lean alot of things from Jeopardy. I used to watch it a long time ago. I know this is an old post but do you still find your notebooks on Jeopardy and go visit your son and watch it with him?

Nice trivia. Thanks
I just love them too. But I am not surprised by the 2/3 of American presidents who are lawyers. Understanding laws is probably essential for working in the government.
