Good afternoon.Just what the title says.
I read this recently and knew long before they said anything.
a new study shows. If you are sick or elderly and in a hospital .
You will survive when your primary doctor is a woman.
The patients of female doctors are less like to be re-hospitalized
In the month after discharge.
How do you feel about this?
Mike has a female doctor. He is pleased with it.
I do want to change my primary one.Maybe find a female.
But I am at the age and way after my time.LOL

It doesn't matter to me. But, when I gave birth to my two sons, I had male doctors and I am glad I did. Both of them , both times did a great job birthing my babies.

@amadeo Oh, I am sure they can. There are some smart women out there that I know are professionals in birthing babies.

Maybe the stats are favorable to women, but for me it is a matter of trust, not of gender. There are some lawyers that I had with me at college that I would never trust if I was needing a lawyer, and some others that I would trust 100%. Same for doctors : I met a lot of medical students and some were really scary. I always chose my doctors among those having a good reputation, without considering the gender. Sadly, in case of emergency, you cannot chose who will take care of you.

I like women doctors as well. Partly because I choose to remove myself from the man factor and be supportive of women excelling in the business world.

I would agree with tops. Sometimes you cannot choose who will look after you it is a matter of trust. I found Men to be much better in my case except for one time. Yes some of them are really scary. So much so that I changed the Doctor that time. He scared the hell out of me. But another one scared me but he saved my very badly injured knee although I was scared out of my wits at the time as I was a very small child .

I have a female doctor and she's great. Like Deborah, I am more comfortable with a woman doctor.

Really! I'm not surprised at all. Women make more caring and compassionate doctors. They are more like my mother who cared for me when I was a kid and sick.

There are male doctors that seem female in nature. They are good, and warm to their patients

I was very pleased when my supplemental insurance assigned me to a female doctor, and an internal medicine doctor at that. Not that I'm into pharmaceuticals, mind you, but I think that old saying holds true, "if the only tool you have is a hammer, you see everything as a nail" and in the doctor-choosing case, "if you are a surgeon, you see everything as an operation." I'm too old for surgery, thank you very much.

I prefer a woman doctor, though at the moment my primary is a male, inherited when my female doctor retired.
