Its going to be a gray Christmas card envelope year

I painted my self into a corner for sure. I hated the selection of Christmas cards that sat in the rack. I super hated spending five dollars for a stupid piece of paper and envelope that had very little beauty or content to it.
Then over away from the current holiday cards I spied a muted beige/pink montage of violets. Blank inside. I stared at the blank. 2.99 Roommate said: Perfect for you! You're good at coming up with words.
Huge gulp. Next stop after I am through with this post: Office Word. Something must lurk on that blank screen. Something that will please Mom.
Yup. A gray envelope is headed Mom's way. Now let's see what words will scrape up out of the molasses barrel.....

At one of my former writing sites (where I actually made money LOL) I wrote many articles that were full of greeting card versus. I was good at it and even applied to a few card companies...Heard back from one but decided it wasn't for me

I tend to go to the dollar store and get a box of cards for a buck, lol. Did you think of something to write?

@Jessicalynnt I feel pressure cause my Mom is now 95. What if this is her final Christmas card?!

@Jessicalynnt It was for my Mom. I didn't want to look too cheap. I did just find some super lovely paper napkins at the dollar store so I shouldn't slap at their quality too much. I wrote out a little ditty about the crèche scene. Maybe I'll find it and post it here.

Sounds like a good solution. Besides, the pretty flowers will be even more of a surprise inside the dreary envelope! And don't worry about what you write. Despite everything, she keeps saying she loves hearing from you. I don't think she remembers most of what she did. On the one hand, that's sad, but on the other hand, the caring she has for you is one of the few things she still remembers reliably.

@Rohvannyn The flowers are violets. Grandma loves pansies so its a good match. I wrote a creche scene cause a memory poem would not have meant as much to her at this point.

I actually think gray is winter-ish . . . gray can be quite elegant too! If an envelope looks just too blah, we spice it up with whatever craft stuff we have . . . glitter, stickers, anything that might match the inside. I'm sure you will "scrape up" the perfect words!
