We Made It Easy, This Time

Yesterday , December 19 , was our parents ‘ 58th wedding anniversary .
Usually , my sisters , nephews and brother-in-law would make their own dishes for the celebration . But for my part , I would always buy a dish and we bring it there .
However , last 17th , we celebrated it easier and earlier, as the picture showed us 5 sisters , in one of the pictures taken .
We all met (including my husband who hurriedly went there during their office lunch break) in an “eat all you can restaurant” and there we ate and afterwards did some sharing of stories and picture taking .
We sisters , split the bill and paid for them .
After which my father requested that we go to the new thrift mall and there he bought a solar and rechargeable flashlight .
We were to eat still in a Korean restaurant for desserts , however , he begged off and they all went back to our hometown after going to the mall , while I went home already .
They still bought some foods in our hometown and partook of them later .
If it were you , would you still do the cooking of the foods or just buy the foods or go to a restaurant ?

Wow, 45 years ! Advance Happy Anniversary to the both of you .
Same with us , we eat out at a restaurant . Though , we always like it to be at dinner , because we both have our jobs . At least , whatever day it is , dinner time would be fine for both of us , because we are already free from our respective works by then .
Good for you both because you own your time .

@SIMPLYD We married two days after Christmas, even if we worked, this is vacation time for the Offices. Even my niece who works is vacationing from the day before Christmas until January 2. We chose that specific day just to be sure we would always be free for our anniversary. The dinner is always at home, a candlelight dinner in front of the fireplace.

That's nice too . Actually we do that though those living at my parents house , my widowed sister and the separated sister , cooks their own food share . While my brother-in-law and my sister who lives within the compound cooks too . Me and my other sister just buy foods .
But this time we made it easier for everybody .

It is great on your part and your sisters that you celebrated your parents' wedding anniversary. I feel that celebration is more important than the venue or whether it is outside or inside.

Thank you .
Actually , we started celebrating it when most of us starts having our own incomes because we chip in for all the expenses .
When we were just kids, our mother would just prepare special foods for everyone to partake together in the table . It's always a happy occasion since then.
And you are right , the venue isn't important . As long as the family can get together .

I like to make the Food if I can but if not I would buy it and take it home. No place like Home to celebrate something so nice. Beautiful photo too.

lovely photo! .. it is easier to just go to a restaurant and go through all the trouble of cooking .. But I do love getting together at home so I don't mind doing all the preparation and the cooking ..

Thank you .
Actually , the previous years , we cooked because there are lots of other guests . But this time , we opted for it to be just family , so we can just eat out .
It was better this way .
Anyway , even if your parents are gone , you can celebrate it should you want . They will be happy watching you all in heaven .

Even i , if i had lots of money i will should the bill alone .
Indeed , it is cheaper when we just cook . Although , there were just 15 of us , so we opted to just eat out at a buffet so we can taste lots of foods .
But if we have lots of guests as the previous years were , we will just cook . But this year we opted that it would just be us , the family .
Yes, however it is , everybody is happy to gather .

@SIMPLYD True but always invite people with money that route and if poor make them cook. That is what my higher on the food chain friends make me do. I cook slice some lemons but sometimes I dump a drink on their head because they think that is how money works. You just got to tell them in a respectful way need some help in some degree and most will do it whether they see you as rich or not. They have respect and all want to work to have a good time.

What a nice celebration you have. If there will be many guest it's better to go to restaurants. It's less stressful. You can cook if few people will be attending. Buffet is a good choice.

Hmm , to that , we think differently . If we have lots of guests , we will really just cook . Because if it is in a restaurant it will be so expensive already .
We were just about 15 in all . Actually we reserved for 20 seats , but the others are not present .

@averygirl72 The headdress was courtesy of the sister beside me . She borrowed it from her friend who made those for the party of their church .
So after the photo ops she took it from us again .

Indeed it is the best choice , so everybody can taste a lot of foods.
As to the Korean restaurants , my sister who has been there said , that they have a counterpart of our halo-halo , which is scoops of ice cream with toppings of the fruit of your choice.
They ride the van of my sister .

I think sometimes it is just more practical to go to a restaurant. This way everyone gets exactly what they want to eat.

That is true and besides everybody doesn't want to get tired cooking anymore .
However , like the past years , if there are other guests we surely would just cook because it would be cheaper . But we chose to celebrate it simply and just the family , so we just eat out .
It was better this way actually .

Whatever you chose to do it was for the love of your parents and I am sure they are proud of each and everyone of you! Your poor father having to live in a house of women. He must have had to queue for weeks to use the bathroom!

Yes , i know that too .
His word , being the sole man in the house (even the maid is a woman ) , is the last word of the house . Even us girls would be fearful when his voice becomes loud .
No , he doesn't have to queue , because they have their own bathroom . But sometimes , we choose to use it and they don't mind at all .
