why are people fanatic about religon?

most sects are seen to be very very particular about their beliefs and rules of their religion,what do you think?

people who belive in religion are fanatic because they are taught to belive and have faith in the religious god. they were taught various mythological stories which revolve in their minds when they see that particular god. they belive in religion because religion has been inherited from their fore fathers which even these people continue to follow blindly

I just don't know. Religion is a matter of opinion and no one can force anybody to subscribe to other person's opinion if he does not want to. I can see that people do all sorts of eveils in the name of religion. I can tell you that they are irreligious. No religion preacehs fanaticsm, extreemism or bigotry. I believe The god that every religion claim supreme knows better and can sieve out the chaffs from the weath.

I dont believe in religions .. i believe in a single supreme god ...thats all that matters... not the packaging in which god is distributed in!!!

because they need something to belive
