If you do not see me around today, there is a reason. I am busy preparing our Christmas Eve dinner.
I got up early this morning to prepare the traditional Italian tortellini (upper left photo), this takes a bit of time.
After the tortellini, I baked a Christmas log cake (bottom left photo) and covered with chocolate mousse.
The bottom right photo, are the sweet breads that I will serve tomorrow morning for breakfast.
A few minutes ago, I have finished the shrimp cocktails with the mayonnaise and vegetable salad.
I still have to prepare some smoked salmon and ham canapés and a fruit salad, but this will take very little time.
We plan to have dinner around 8 tonight and then watch a Christmas movie.
Is your Christmas Eve dinner ready?

@LadyDuck Thank you
I am going to my sister's for our annual Christmas. She usually has a 8 course menu she makes everything from scratch but with two little ones, I'm not sure what's the menu I just know there will be prime rib which I'm excited for.

Wow, you prepared them all ? You are a tireless and amazing woman , Anna .
They all seemed so delicious , specially the shrimp cocktails and chocolate mousse.
I know you enjoyed your Christmas celebration with your husband , just as we did too at home .

I had Christmas lunch dinner this year, no Christmas Eve dinner for me, I am reserving myself for the New Year's Eve dinner.
You made yourself a Christmas log cake ? I do not remember to have ever eaten a homemade log cake. Congratulations, everything looks very appetizing I wish you a good evening/night.

I make a Christmas log cake every year, it's always better than to make tortellini, it's a never ending task to fold them one by one. There is a lot of time before New Year's Eve and before that we have to celebrate our wedding anniversary, the 27th. After will be diet.

Not cooking I am getting on a plane and heading to your house - everything looks fantastic!
South Carolina shrimp defrosting for shrimp and lemon pasta
Two lobster tails in the fridge - might throw them in the pasta also or eat separately, can't decide.
Chocolate cake just went in the oven.
Raining and dreary and glad to be inside cooking! Merry Christmas Eve to you and yours!

oh, sadly, we slept and not have the traditional Noche Buena, because my 2 older brothers attended a reunion of high schoolmates, when they too were intoxicated that they slept before midnight. the 3 of us (me, sis, and son) also slept because we were tired as well. but when 2017 comes, definitely we will be awake

@LadyDuck it is a tradition here in my country to be awake when the old year leaves and the new year comes. it will be a brand new year and we must greet the year with a 'big bang' and shoo away the lad luck by opening the windows and doors. it is a custom here as well.

A Christmas log cake with mousse? That looks delicious. *_*
My aunt has got home-made muffins for all of us from her house. An amateur at the kitchen, I am trying to bake a chocolate cake for the first time. Let's see how it turns out!
At the evening, we are planning to go out to the theaters for a movie that has just released.
My cousins are here and it is so much fun already.
How I waited for this one big week!
Merry Christmas!
