While You Were All Busy.....

I spent a lovely day lounging at our pool with my husband. No, he was not fired from his job. He retired early and so did I. That's why we are in Florida for the winter.
I phoned my decorator in Connecticut who had to work. Poor thing, but I'm glad she was there. I had to tell her about a problem with a section of our new sofa. It will be repaired in April.
I gabbed with my dear friend.
I set up a dinner date with a couple we met in Scandinavia. They will be in Florida in January. We dined with them last year, too, while they were here.
We were greeted, on a first name basis, mind you, by a singer/songwriter, who bought a vacation condo here last year. He wrote the Bounty paper towel jingle, "The Quicker Picker Upper", among many #1 songs with his band.
We interacted with Orville. We think he looks fatter. That's him in the palm tree. He's as big as a cow. Almost.
I lost six pounds since we've been here.
We had Chinese food for dinner.
Tomorrow, there will be more pool time and a barbecue at our friend's winter condo. They arrived from New York a few days ago. I may gain those six pounds back.
I guess we've been busy, too.
Meanwhile, a Merry Christmas to all of you who have been myLotting today!

Honestly Dianne you could have had atleast half a dozen posts on what you have told us here. Such a fun packed time that all our Christmas fun fades into insignificance

Sounds like you're having a good time in Flordia! No pool here today its gloomy, windy and super cold! I was layered in jackets!

Happy Hanukkah to you. I spotted Orville right away in his palm tree. I've been maintaining my weight, so hopefully after the new year I'll be able to start losing again.
I'm not jealous of your warm weather, sitting by the pool, having barbecues with friends, and making dinner dates with visiting friends in January. I'm very happy for you.
For me, it's snowing. It hasn't disappeared yet. So I'm very happy.

Sounds like you have a great day. It was cold here, but warm inside! So warm that I had to open the living room door and let a little fresh air in. The furnace didn't come on because the oven and stove was cranking!

@DianneN hubby is wrapped up in his blanket with his feet up in the recliner. It is warm with the furnace running, but the moments in between can be a little nippy.

My mother loves palm trees and brought me a sago palm back from Florida last year when she was on vacation. She would love this photo you posted! You said you have lost 6 pounds. Are you exercising more there like swimming? I find when it is hotter I do not eat as much.

@DianneN I was not even friends with my mother on facebook for quite a few years lol I didn't want to hear any lectures about the crazy stuff I post at times. My Sago Palm is alive but I do not have a green thumb either and it most of my plants are dying.

I love palm trees, but killed the few palms we had. No green thumb on me. I posted it on FB, too. Too bad your mom and I aren't FB friends. Yes, I lost the weight from swimming, riding my bike, and walking. We also eat more fresh fish and salads here. However, I gained almost two pounds back from New Year's Eve and sitting around with a bad cold. Drat!

Merry Christmas! Sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. I've just been a'visitin' - going from house to house of close friends, enjoying homestyle traditional dishes and lots of sweets - I hear you on those 6 pounds - oyie! We've been fortunate here in the Carolinas to have some warm days - highs in the upper 67's this weekend & for the start of the week at least. I feel pretty blessed so am super grateful for that & where I'm at these days. And that's what it's all about anyway - connecting with loved ones & sharing stories of the year and basking in the awesome warm sunshine!! Happy New Year!

we celebrated with our family last night so quiet day here today I was up late and up early so I'm glad it's going to be quiet. Making ham for dinner and that's about it for us. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

It's nice to read about your sunny relaxing day in Florida after the past days here of Christmas overload. Although it's foggy and dreary this morning in Pa I"m happy to have the house to myself and relax a little.

That all sounds lovely! And way to go on the 6 pounds. We are having a nice quiet Christmas day and will be having a noisy Family get together tomorrow. My turkey is in the oven so I will go for a walk in the sparkling sunshine and see if I can do something about my weight!
