Flying Home Today

Our Christmas is over and this afternoon we fly home to Perth, Western Australia. We enjoyed our four days with our son in Melbourne, Victoria. The first two days we spent helping him with some chores. I'll write about them later when I'm able to download some photos.
We stayed in an AirBnB as our son lives in a tiny little house and has a house-mate so there wasn't room to stay there. When searching for accommodation near our son, we found a place that seemed suitable. When we eventually booked it we were surprised to find it was in the same street and just a few doors up from him. It has been very convenient as we haven't need taxis to travel home at night as we have in the past.
Yesterday we had a phone call from the family to whom we sent the calendar. They were thrilled with it as we thought they would be. The photo has no relevance to this pos but is just a lovely sunset.

It's like a B&B but - actually I'm not sure what the difference is. Now I remember - you have your own bedroom and usually an ensuite and you share the lounge and kitchen with the host so you get your own breakfast; also meals if you want to. Each one is a bit different. Our 'host' was only there for two nights then went off to Sydney and left us to it. Our bedroom with ensuite was downstairs and the kitchen and lounge upstairs. Some we investigated when we were travelling overseas didn't have a 'host'. You just picked up the key from somewhere and had the place to yourself. They can be a bit expensive though.

Thanks. We're home again now after a good flight. The road home was bumper to bumper with traffic. Everyone is heading south to the coastal towns for the school holidays.

@responsiveme I don't have a mobile phone - can't stand them really but if it means I can myLot on them maybe I could be persuaded to have one. I always look forward to logging in here if I've been away for a while.

@JudyEv Yes, hubby had a gall bladder operation, then was in charge of college exams, then went for a training where I became a student and then some travelling where I don't get to access the net.I realize a smart phone has become a necessity now.
Its good to chat with friends on mylot again

Good you find a suitable place to stay. I knew you enjoyed spending Christmas with your son. I have a relative who works in Perth Australia. He will get his family here in the Philippines to live there in Perth
