Yearly resolution vs. monthly resolution

If I have to choose (not that I have to), I'd choose monthly.
For one thing, I find that it's easier to commit to a monthly resolution, and easier to follow through. Plus, imagine having a different resolution every month - that's a lot of accomplishments in a year if you managed to achieve your target each month. They don't even have to be complicated, either.
Next month's resolution? Master 3 new recipes. Haha. Hopefully!
What's yours?

Exactly! I think life just becomes more dynamic that way, and you get to see results faster too.

Yeah true montly resolutions are easy to follow. I am very bqd at throwing party. I go out enjoy as i get frustated seeing a messy house after any party but my son wants me to throw parties. So my resolution is to throw as many parties as possible this month for my son.

@jyotiu28jul Oh okay if he's two then it won't be a really crazy party then hehe. At least you're trying your best to make him happy.

@cahaya1983 for me it is.. Coz he is only two and we stay away from our friend and family. He finds himself lonely and frustated.

Monthly resolution worked out for me. As long as I can achieve them monthly goals, I am happy. What 3 new recipes are you hoping to try out?

Totally understand, haha. Resolutions used to be a thing when I was in school. Like, at the beginning of the school year the teacher would always ask "Let's hear everyone's New Year resolution!". We didn't stick to them of course.

That's great! I like the idea because even if it's a big goal/project,you can still break it down into smaller goals/tasks over different months so that they're more achievable.

More realistic for me. If I make a yearly one I'll forget about it after a month. Maybe less.

Theoretically you are right. In some cases it will be effective such as students who are studying . Also those who have target bound work I suppose.. ...

More practical too, for me. I mean I think yearly ones are okay but for me personally monthly ones are more doable and convenient.

I won't make it if it's a monthly resolution, and I didn't get to achieve this year resolution. But I did accomplish loosing weight but not the target weight.

I think it's really up to us to "customize" the resolutions, like if a monthly one doesn't work, maybe a bi-monthly one will, or quarterly. Glad to hear you managed to accomplish something nonetheless!

I like this concept of a resolution for each month. Short term goals often work better than unforseable long term goals. This is really a very good idea. I like it. I might be able to master one single recipe making a pizza that is actually edible.

Haha I'm sure you will! Well worst case scenario, if it's not edible you can still carry your pizza mission forward to the next month!

I've always preferred short-term goals over long-term ones as well.

Yes, that's the idea behind it. I doubt that most people who have a new year resolution really stick to just one goal anyway, there would still be mini-goals throughout the year that they would want to accomplish.
