We Often Take Things For Granted

My hot water system has been down since 23rd of Dec, and as every things seem to stop because of the holiday season, we have to wait until businesses are back to normal for us to have our hot water back. So, since the day our hot water system is down, we been either having cold showers or boil water for our quick showers...
This remind me of how much we have depended on everything we have around us. We used to not having internet and now whenever the internet is down, we get upset and we don't know what to do with our time. We used to not having mobile phones and now whenever we misplace our phones we get upset as we are afraid that others can't contact us... We don't know what it is really like until we don't have what we always have any more..

If we look around I believe we will have it replaced...but I want (well, we didn't have a choice) to see how long we can go without hot water... I can tell you that I am running low with my patience here... Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.

I understand what you mean about not realizing how useful these things are till they go down. Here at my house if the internet goes down for a short time you would think the world was coming to an end because the kids and grandkids are all upset about it. They would not be able to survive back when i was growing up... we didnt have internet , no remotes for televisions , black and white television no color tv, no cable television so only 4 channels, no cell phones only house phones with cords to the wall! When ever the internet goes down and my kids start complaining about it I would love to have the power to send them back in time for a day to see how i grew up!
