I've never really been into poetry. I think I lost my liking for it in school when I was forced to read very old, symbolic poetry and found it boring. I've recently decided to give it another shot, though, after seeing a lot of people talk about a poetry book on one of the book pages I'm following on Facebook. The book is called "Milk and Honey" and it's written by Rupi Kaur. I've been told that this book is an excellent one for a woman to read who has suffered a heartache, or who feels alone, or who has experienced abuse or loss, etc. I read countless reviews of people talking about the beauty of this book and how it changed them. I was very intrigued and decided to order it and give it a try. Not that I'm suffering greatly or anything, but everyone could use a "pick-me-up" book every once in a while. :-)
After posting on this Facebook page that I ordered the book, another book nerd mentioned another poetry book that she thought I would like. This one is called "The Princess Saves Herself This Time" by Amanda Lovelace. This book contains poems that teach a girl to be independent and strong and share emotions and feelings dealing with life, love, loss, etc. Once reviewer claimed this book was like a "haunting" because the words wouldn't leave her after she finished. I went ahead and ordered that one, too. lol
It's been years since I've tried diving into poetry, but I feel like I've made a couple good choices for my return. We'll see how it goes. :-)

I love reading poetry also. I wish I could also write my own poetry.

Poetry has always been kind of hard for me to get into. Probably because I'm not good at writing it.

Now you will have something to read and possibly pick you up during work breaks.
