And here is the Coconut tree! Just look at those huge coconuts ready to fall to the ground & offer up sweet nourishing milk - YUM fresh from the tree! That is if team monkey doesn't get them first! LOL
That coconut tree drew me in - I loved it from the time I moved into that house. That portion of the yard has nice sandy loam soil and twice daily in the dry season I watered it - having hired a groomer to come and trim it a couple of times. Just to pull off dead leaves to encourage new growth.
My chickens pecked and scratched at the foot of that tree - and to the left is a male mango tree - encouraging an entire soi of females to product plump juicy mangos through the growing season. To the right is a "snake bush" that does attract snakes to come & roost in the entwining branches - looking to catch a small humming bird unaware.
Yes - I'm beginning to miss my garden & coconut tree - yet I smile knowing I helped bring new life to a forgotten little patch of promise all those years ago - with the love of a coconut tree

Very cool. I live in the Chicago area, but we can still grow peaches and cherry trees. We also have strawberries, raspberries, and a veggie garden in the summer.

@fishtiger58 you've got the right spring frost for the berries - lucky you! it took several failed crops of strawberries before a friend clued me into the temperature trigger needed for berries to grow - oyie - live & learn ^_^ It's good to get your hands in healthy soil and watch a garden grow from where you planted seeds & sprouts

@SunnyShores And of course with strawberries and raspberries you only have to plant them once, then they just keep coming back. My kind of berry lol.

it is very refreshing! I'd drink the milk then cut the top off & let the dogs play with & chew on it. The lab loves coconuts
