Good cinema

I rarely like movies. By that I mean that there are only a few movies that I like out of the so many I have watched. I do not have a specific genre of movies that I like. So, Kingdom of Heaven, School of Rock, Greenmile, Angels and Demons, Haider, Talash, Pursuit of happyness and Rock on were a few movies that I thoroughly enjoyed. What's your favorite movie genre and which movies would you recommend to others?

I just recommend a movie. I like movies. Can't say I have a favourite genre though. Sometimes I just want entertainment and other times to get something out of watching one.

Yes sometimes when we are bored of too much entertainment, we look for meaningful cinema....

@Bluedoll That happens with me too. Sometimes when there is everyone around and we are chatting, movies content doesn't matter. You just watch it to lighten the mood. But when you are alone in a mood to watch a good story then it has to be a good cinema form which you can carry something.

Those are my favorites too. But sci-fi, violence like wrong turn and zombie movies are out of my league

If you like Shyam Benegal's movies, then your inclination must be towards realistic and meaningful cinema. Which directors do you like in current times?

Wow @spaceseed! Your taste of movies is very refined. I am also anticipating that Haramkhor would be a good watch.

@awesomeme Really complicated...

If you are a movie buff then, it would be difficult to pick one genre or movie

:-) I like a horror movie if it can scare me really. My cousins dared me to watch the Exorcist at 3 in the morning. I guess it wasn't scarry enough. But otherwise I like romantic, drama and thrillers too.
