USA Vacation spots?

Does anyone know where a good vacation spot in the United States may be for the spring of 2017. I've been to the Wisconsin dells already, and may be thinking of going back but I'm looking for other places as well. Maybe somewhere close to Minnesota if possible. If possible have an estimated cost for that said vacation looking for two to three days, weekdays preferably.

Grand Marais, Minnesota is a great artsy small town on the shores of Lake Superior. I haven't been there in years but a quick search shows there are several lodging options to fit all budgets.
