The Camera issue was easily resolved!

Thankfully we got two salesmen who knew what they were talking about. They were at the checkout counter just waiting to help Ha Ha.
I gave them the run down on the camera issues and it was a simple fix - something the original sales guy should have taken care of.
I was given a usb cable (for free) and they showed me where on the camera it goes - it was sorta hidden. They explained that if I want I can use WIFI but now that I have the cable I am okay. They also said since most cameras don't come with a card I needed to buy one.
I got one for less than $10 and again expressed my displeasure about the original sales guy who should have told me these things. I was also told that the person who sold me the camera thinks he knows it all but he doesn't (and yes he still works there!) I said I thought he had a know-it-all attitude.
I have the camera, the usb cable and the card - so I'm all set. If we ever go back to that store I will make sure I get one of the two smart guys who were helpful!
Photo belongs to me.

You got that right - I blame the first guy - he should have made sure everything I needed was there.

It's a good thing when a salesperson is helpful and knows what they're talking about.

You got that right. I guess shopping online I would learn more than I did from him!

@AbbyGreenhill I think it was so much discounted because the new model was coming, it was priced $ 270 before the sale.

The guy did give us a decent discount when we bought it but it was way more than $90 LOL...my last Nikon was more than the Canon. I compared photos taken with both cameras and the new one has far superior results.

Great thing that they attended you like they should do so you get to know what is what about the Camera and all the other things that go with it. I like people like that too specially if I need help and there is not a soul around to help you out. Now set for picture taking.

Yeah, that guy lied through his teeth to sell you that model. It might have been newly stocked at the store, or fresh off their truck, but it's not a brand new model in their lineup. I don't blame you for being disappointed with the service you received from him. He promised a lot of things that he just didn't deliver. If he were in my store, we'd be in the process of either bringing him up to speed or subtly encouraging him to move on to something that was a better fit for him...

@AbbyGreenhill I know. It's one of the departments I'm most familiar with in our store.
How are you liking it so far now that you've gotten the extras you needed?

I don't trust the wifi on the cam because it might get a virus. I better have the wired one, that's probably more safe.

Certainly there are good sales assistants - and then there are the others.
