Good afternoon, the phone rang and it was from my primary doctor. He wants to see me for he feel that I do have anxiety problem. With all the complained that I have about my health. Now that I think of it.He may be right. He wants talk to get me on the medication. something to talk about. I found out that this is common in elderly.. I went to the website to get more information on this. Below is what I find. ____________________________________________ Due to the lack of evidence, doctors often think that this disorder is rare in the elderly or that it is a normal part of aging, so they don't diagnose or treat anxiety in their older patients, when, in fact, anxiety is quite common in the elderly and can have a serious impact on quality of life," says Lenze.

Well I very much hope that you can get this treated in a way that greatly reduces your anxiety. Though I am not a big believer in medication because they all have side effects and that leads to additional problems.

I hope your doctor listens and helps you. I had a problem a while ago and it was because I lost weight and my meds were to strong to the thinner me. I thought I was going crazy and was very happy to have that go away.

Medication might help with your anxiety, but it also might not help. Hopefully you and your doctor will find the treatment that works best for you.

You may not need it- Magnesium is natural and will help you sleep and even calm down during the day! sometimes those medications have too many side-effects. It may be worth a try! Good luck Alfredo with it!

I think that you would know better then anyone else if you have this. I didn't know it was common with aging, I know that a lot of young mothers, in their early 30's that I know, have it.

Perhaps talking therapy would be better rather than using anxiolytics or anti depressants. They numb the brain and do not necessarily deal with what is causing you the anxiety in the first place. Good luck I wish you well!

I wasn't aware of anxiety in the elderly, but only you and your doctor can determine what is best for you.
