I want 2016 to last another year

I had a great year, I have nothing to complain about...oh sure, minor issues with purchases, etc. But that's nothing compared to dying or a house burning down.
I know many of you are anxious to see what the new year brings. I know what I had, what I currently have and I worry about what I won't have in 2017. I don't want my boat tipped over.
My life is set, I've been told I'm lucky. Luck has nothing to do with it. What I worry about is what the new administration will take away. You notice he has never mentioned seniors and what he will do (or not do) for us. I have great health insurance, and it's also a zero premium plan. It has not changed since I started on the free plan. Not sure why others seniors who are paying high premiums don't switch.
Since we quit work in our early 50's we didn't get retirement benefits so we paid for medical through BC/BS for over 10 years....now it's nice to have no premiums. We switched our very expensive meds to generic and they are free. My blood pressure is the same on generics as it was on name brand. Changing 3 expensive meds to generics saved us $3,000 a year.
I wish I would wake up 1/1/17 and it be like Groundhog Day - 1/1/16 all over again, every day. But that's just me.

Unfortunately, not all programs are offered in all states. My medications are the same price whether generic or brand name and they are tier 3 so never cheap or free. We only pay $26 a month for our coverage each so I am not complaining.

@AbbyGreenhill but we in the rest of the world unfortunately have to suffer the consequences as there are always spin-offs for the rest of the world unfortunately.

@valmnz You might get the spin off but we get the main tornado of God knows what.

Ah, yes-Groundhog Day! That would be nice.
We lost many in 2016, but we had no control over what was happening in 2016, and we certainly won't have any in 2017.
Just blink, and it will be 365 days from now. Remind me then that I said the year would fly by! (Like you need me to tell you that!)

@AbbyGreenhill indeed, I just really worry about money and paying for things. I texted the x again this AM to get updates on the divorce and on if he could honor his agreement to pay half the truck, and he said "too busy paying off our old stuff", if he means his Credit card that's bs, as he has MORE than paid that off, and is too busy buying booze and video games. That truck IS our old stuff..... seriously making me upset

My husband worked for the state of Illinois for 37 years and retired almost 3 years ago when he was 58. Because he worked so long for the state he gets the same employee health insurance he had when he was working. So we don't pay much and we have it for life. soon my oldest will have to get his own health insurance as he will be 26 in June. Thankfully he will be offered insurance at his job so it won't cost him an arm and a leg. My youngest is still on our insurance as well but also gets health insurance from the university he attends as he's a grad student. Not sure if all the students get health insurance or it's just the grad students.

When we were working on our plan to quit work and move south I called BS/BC of NJ - they wanted $1,000 each per month for insurance (that was in 2001)...I then called BS/BC and Tn and the same plan for both of us was $397 a month! Of course by around 2008 the price doubleb but it did in NJ also. Once my husband was able to get Medicare and the United HealthCare plan I was paying BS/BC and it was almost $800 for just me. Can you see why zero premium plan made me so happy!

I'm hoping that things change for us. That things get easier financially. Sure, we're healthy, are able to get food, and we have a roof over our heads, so in that sense I can't complain. But things are tight and I'm just hoping for things to change and get a little easier. Enough that we don't have to worry so much.

I can understand your concern but at this point we just have to wait and see what the future holds, The last few years have not been real good for our family for jobs and health care. So it would be nice to see things looking up. I do hope that you lose nothing and I am hopeful for your future as well.
