~Has Someone Held Back Your Dreams or Desires?~

I know it could be a little confusing so let me explain. My husband has hired someone who was not right for the company. He let things go that the guy did like show up late, cursing on the job and such... The jobs stopped coming in for a bit and he let the guy go since he couldn't afford to pay him and there were no jobs coming in. Literally-I kid you not the very next day my husband got more work than he could dream of! The "wrong" person as his helper was hindering God's blessings. With the new house...I am starting to think my husband's aunt is our hindrance. I just have this feeling that God wants the house to be our blessing and won't allow it to happen until she's gone. I could be wrong but that's just my feelings. Has anyone ever hindered your blessings?

Yes some are just negative vibes and once they're out of the picture, good things will happen. Happened to me as well. I hope aunt Mary leaves soon as promised in a few days!

I tend to agree with you on aunt Mary maybe she is your hindrance. Just think 3 more days and hopefully she will be gone. Then let all the good blessings come pouring in.

I never thought of it that way, I've taken responsibility for the good or bad in it that I can control and simply realize that some things are out of my control so I just grin and bare it. I don't place blame on other people. Happy New Year, I hope your's will be healthy, happy and prosperous

@rebelann It's not placing blame on others. Sometimes God wants things to be peaceful and some people get in the way of that. Happy New Year to you as well. =)

You could be right. I haven't let anyone try to hinder my blessings, although they have tried. Things will work out for the best and every dog has his day. Those are my mottos of late.

@DianneN Yeah some people don't give you much choice when they live with you. I try to avoid her like the plague but she does live here so that's hard to do.

Maybe, but usually it is my own attitude that becomes a hindrance. I think God would honor both of you for being fair and trying to help people. Your blessings will come when the time is right. i would say though that the time may not be right until Aunt Mary has a place to go, more or less as a protection for you that her mean spirit does not contaminate your joy.

@GardenGerty That's what I'm thinking-God wants us to have peace in our new home and that won't happen with her there... I think when she leaves the house will work out the way it's supposed to.

I think that I have had someone hinder my blessings in life, surprisingly enough, it is my very own mother. I won't talk about it because I don't want to disrespect her or her thoughts and ways, but I have learned (from her) how NOT to act. I think that you have probably learned this a long time ago too from encounters with people like you describe.

@Juliaacv I'm sorry to hear it's your own mother. My father has hindered some blessings for us as well. Yes if nothing else negative people show us how we never want to act.

I'm not sure if my blessings have ever been hindered in the way you describe. When I was a teenager, I was often told my dream of being a marine biologist and researcher was impractical. The people telling me this were my parents, teachers, and guidance counselor; the very people who should have been encouraging me to pursue my dreams.

Great your husband has work coming in. Glad he got rid of the lame weight worker. Turn your feelings into positive ones towards your aunt and concentrate on being happy with your family. Happy New Year to you!

@garymarsh6 Easier said than done when someone so negative and ungrateful lives with you. She was going to be homeless and we gave her a roof over her head. All she has done in return is be mean to our kids and dogs, complain, be ungrateful and act like a child herself. Not much positive in all of that! I hope you have a great New Year too.

@LovingMyBabies Perhaps you should both put your foot down with her and give her an ultimatum,. Shape up or ship out! No quibbling!

I think sometimes negativity can hinder things in our lives. They can definitely make things difficult. It's probably why I do try to stay positive. Hopefully, you can make things happen with the new house and make sure positive things happen. I do think it might be best to not live with your aunt. Whether or not she's hindering things with the house, I just feel as though you don't need her negativity in your family. I really hope for the best for you guys.

It can be hard to find the right balance, once you have it becomes hard keeping it.

I've said right along that having her move with you is a bad idea. Any chance current circumstances will accelerate her plans to move to Louisiana? I can't imagine she has anything nice to say about what happened last night.

Yes.. My stepmother have done this for me in my childhood. I lost many because of her

There is always a bigger plan in place for you than you can ever imagine. Nobody really knows what waits around the corner in your life so it is better to just ride it out and see where you come out of it. Trying to control your life is fruitless and leads to a bunch of bad things. The key is to remain strong in the faith that things will turn out better than you imagine..........because it usually does.
