I'm guessing his expletive was because the dog walker he saw changed his idea that he was the last man on earth at that moment in time.

@celticeagle @MarshaMusselman has it right, thinking of films like day Of The Triffids and 28 Days Later where someone finds everyone else seems to have vanished until he eventually meets other survivors - the last word suggests disappointment that nothing has changed after all

Nice way to share a snippet of your life in haiku, Arthur. Are those the gulls you reference in the one stanza? Lol. I see them enjoying spaghetti more than worms unless they are gummy worms maybe.
Our sea gulls don't bother with worms, but rather eat all the litter that people throw about parking lots. It looks like you must have an amusement part set up throughout each year there?
