Diary Sunday 1st January 2017 - New Years Day

International Hangover Day as most people will be spending much of the first day of the year recovering from the New Year’s Eve drinkathon, groaning at the slightest sound, taking aspirin because of the deafening noise of a moth scratching its kneecaps. I was out until 3.30 am, with my celebrations taking me to three different bars. The first one from which I posted quite a lot to Mylot on my tablet devise, got noisy as the DJ seemed to think he was in Ibiza cranking up the volume for thousands with mostly repetitive dance music. The second free bar I found is one I have a beer points discount card for but the barmaid wilfully ignored it and didn’t add points to it for me and most customers there looked bored. The third bar was lovely, lively and not over-crowded. Better still, the music choices were both terrific and not too loud. The last record of 2016 was Elvis’s Devil In Disguise, and the first of the bright shiny new year was Bohemian Rhapsody by The Muppets. A few people came round offering hugs, shaking hands and wishing one another, including me, the best for the new year. I got food in a local take-away and a taxi home as the rain started. It cost about 6 more than usual for New Year. I slept until about 10 am, with a few cat-naps over the day too. I edited and proof-read some writings for our next anthology and took on board some feedback to my own submissions. My tin-opener broke with a tin only half-open.
