This song or forever embedded in mind because I have heard it as far back as I can remember. “There’s a crazy little shack beyond the track” The song is a romantic story about a guy buying a lot of coffee at the Sugar Shack where he has his eye on a cute little waitress. “Sugar Shack” is a sweet pop tune that was a huge hit not only reaching #1 on Billboard but the overall #1 song of 1963. On the same titled album, “Sugar Shack” was written by Keith McCormack and Jimmy Torres and recorded by Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs at Norman Petty’s famous studios in Clovis, New Mexico.
Jimmy and his band reprise their big hit from 1963 in the late sixties.

It seems that the cute girl was worth drinking lots of sugary cups of coffee. I would have done it if I had met a cute girl at a coffee shop too

@rz3300 That is true. I remember being so shy to talk to a girl that I liked and who worked at a restaurant that I attended

I think we can all relate to the cute girl at the coffee shop, that probably most of us are too timid to approach or talk to.

sounds like a prequel to the B-52's Love Shack - similar theme of having to get back to an old love nest

I'm thinking my brother had that 45, because I do remember hearing it from his room upstairs when i was little. But, at 1963, the only thing this takes me back to is cloth diapers. Fun, classic oldie!!!

I remember that song, and because I don't want it stuck in my head, I'll pass. It is a cute song.
