The Moment.

You caught me unawares
You came when I was totally disarmed.
I expected you across a railway platform
Or perhaps walking barefoot
On a smooth sand beach,
Your eyes linked with mine
In a moment we are complete,
This is what I thought
Or more like dreamed,
But no
You came when I least expected,
When my person was but engaged
With the trivia of everyday life,
When I was feeling the least romantic
When it was nowhere near sunny
But was raining,
When no wind played with my hair
Nor did I feel the urge to be in someone's arms;
I was just me,
Messed up, tired, suffering of normalcy
No excitement nothing,
That's when you came
Like a fresh breath of wind,
Unto an unsuspecting land.
You caught me unawares
You came when I was totally disarmed.
The moment never did
But you still came.

Oh, I love this! Fate is often completely unplanned-for, and this captures that perfectly. I love the musing way in which it is written.

Thank you so much. I absolutely agree with you when you say fate is something which takes us by surprise; not something we can anticipate. Besides, we all fantasize about finding our other half in a particular way but about that too we can never be certain.
