Book Recommendations

I'm looking to expand my personal library with intellectual books. I would like to include all genres, but my favorites in non-fiction are History and Science, and fiction are Science Fiction and Fantasy. Do you guys have any suggestions?

A popular and very interesting book is The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.

I'm not sure if you are interested in US history or not, but there is a great book on the early exploration of the far west called "Astoria," by Peter Stark. Russia, England, France and the early US government were all interested in claiming the coast in the northwest part of this continent.
