I can understand that. I have only worked about 15 hours per week for the past two months and it's so stressful!!
I can't even enjoy the unallotted days off for worry over my finances.

It's true if had money I would've enjoyed this day off but I'm short in finances. Really not a good time to not have work. I can't predict how much work I'd get and it's frustrating.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh God that's terrible. My earning potential is high but the problem is that they don't have enough shifts for me. These days I just get 1-2 shift a week and that's 240$ Per shift. Now I'm not complaining if I don't have a visa to pay which is around 5000$. And I still have rent 160$ a week and groceries and utilities. I feel old. Scraping all that I can.

@flapiz It definitely is. I've recently acquired another bill, so at $200.00 more to be taken from my account, I'm starting to sweat.
I'm only netting about $400.00 a month as is!

That's one of the (many) reasons I quit working for an agency. I had some people tell me I was well off because I earned a high hourly rate. Yes, £10 an hour is a good rate, but it doesn't work out a lot when you're only doing 2 to 3 hours a day or getting cancellations. I never knew what to do with myself when I had a last minute cancellation. Even if you have things you could be doing, you feel like you're all out of sync with everything!

That's true salary rate is too good for all the stress we put up with with cancelations and new environments.

i worked for a temp company briefly.if they weren't cancelling, they were outright lying about the pay rate..it was usually a buck or two lower than what they originally said.
the flexability is nice, but i think i'm done with it.

I know right. They compensate when I'm in the hospital already but that's not fair when they cancel an hour just before the shift. Of course I won't come to the hospital an hour early.
