Diary Tuesday 3rd January 2017
No bank holidays left now until Easter, so today was a normal one where most people returned to work. My bills are paid at this time so it was sad to see my earnings from the temporary work done before Christmas decimated by my outgoings.
Headed to the council offices to book an appointment for Monday to reset my council tax payment amounts which were altered while I was working. Other than a bit of food shopping that was all I did.
Diary Wednesday 4th January 2017
Four days in and I still catch myself writing 2016 instead of 2017. I’ll get it right by September.
Today marked my first welfare hearing of the new year and since completion of my post office job.
The hearing went well, and there was a little disappointment that my usual advisor has quit the job for unspecified reasons. She was always fair and friendly with me. The chap replacing her seems reasonable too, though the welfare process can be very invasive. Today’s went smoothly enough.
Afterwards I called in the local library briefly before my first job club visit where I have to be seen job searching twice a week (just once this week) for two hours per session. It was nice to see the other job club users again for the first time in a few months though.

@JudyEv yes, more of a desk planner than a diary - just lets me keep up with forthcoming appointments or I'd forget to turn up for things

Welfare can be very invasive but I am glad that you have something to help you get through until you find another job. I know it isn't much but it helps pay the bills. I put 2016 on everything I did at work yesterday. It will take awhile to get adjusted to the new year. Have a great day!

@arthurchappell You should stick to ladders and avoid stepping on those snakes.

I have been doing well putting 2017 so am glad. That can be frustrating. Glad the job search thing isn't too bad for you. The invasive factor would tick me off I think.Glad the new advisor is alright.

@arthurchappell .....That's what counts. He probably wants to keep a professional distance.

Its good to have a nice diary to write good happenings in hope things go well for you so you can write those in too.
This year I have not had much trouble remembering to put 2017 last year was a different Story though.

yeah...I too did the mistake several times. Instead of writing for 2017 I am still writing 2016.

Searching for work is the worst. Nothing but frustration. I had an interview once. I had 15 years experience, but the guy wouldn't hire me because I hadn't worked in a year. I told him yes, that's why I'm applying for a job. No go.

Interesting. Sometimes, keeping tabs of what is happening to you everyday is very good. You just have to browse it again in the future if you need to remember the events.
