Make it Plain

Why is it you get those e-mails or junk letters in the mail that offer you something, but you need to read through ten pages before you know what the offer is and how much they are going to soak you for the offer?
I'm finding the same technique used in some of the posts here. Now I don't mind long posts, in fact I prefer them a little longer. There's more to comment on. However, when a person starts out rambling about something you have no clue about until the last sentence, that can be quite annoying.
Make it plain! You're not selling me anything on this site, you are giving me something interesting to read. Make it plain what it is you're talking about instead of making me wonder what I'm reading and how in the world I'm going to comment on it.
I just read a very short post, but short as it was, the main thought was in the last line and it was then I realized what the person was talking about in the previous four lines of the post.
Make it plain from the beginning and I will be very happy. Make it murky and I'll be reading your post several times trying to figure it out and also figuring out how to reply to it in a manner that hopefully covers the point of your post. Otherwise you might be shaking your head and wondering what I'm smoking to give you the comment I did. I assure you. I read, thoroughly, every post I read. So if my comment doesn't make sense to you, your post didn't make sense to me.
Make it plain. Thank you.
Thanks for reading.

Now that's telling it like it is.

many writers prefer procrastination before getting to the point

Making it plain can be helpful. Maybe they don't want it to show in that little clip we get so you have to actually open and might be more apt to respond. Who knows! But making it plain would be good.

Thank you. i thought I was the only one with that problem. Actually, I blame myself for not understanding because I though the majority of people on myLot comment and make a post as if they were texting or chatting on Facebook.
Another irritating posts are those that continually talk on the same topic, over and over. And I just can't relate.

No, you're not alone. I have trouble with posts that are always the same topic too.

You have hit the nail on the head. That they make to attract readers but in the end have said nothing of significance.

As children, most were taught to put the Who, Why, When, etc. right in the beginning. If I have to hunt for the point, to me, there isn't one.

You shouldn't need to hunt for the point of any article. Besides, the only kind of hunt I like are Easter Egg hunts.

@DianneN That's good to know. Still I am a black and white person. If you don't tell it to me plain, I have trouble understanding just what it is you're trying to tell me. 2+2 will always equal 4. Just don't mix the equation with a lot of algebra and trig and all those other math problems when 2+2 will always equal 4.

I didn't realize this was a rant post. I've been accused in the past of being black and white. I have a lot of trouble with shades of gray thrown in the mix. Tell me what you want me to know and don't beat about the bush about it.

I feel you there, actually there seems to be a lot of pretty good writers on here, but I tend to enjoy clearly marked posts (what's it about? Even if it's an accounting of you day, put that in the subject line) . The only thing that sort of bothers me is when people post a lot about the earning side of this site (yes I know I like the earnings too, but I love being on here) - like to the point where it's almost all they mention. :-( It's like - don't you want to share with us your opinions? But each to their own :-)

It's rare when I mention earnings. I did a couple days ago because we got paid so early it was a huge surprise. I love this site and the earnings are a bonus, not the main reason I'm here.
