Americans and tea

I saw the English actress Sienna Miller on TV she said that Americans don't really know how to brew tea, as it is never hot enough and the tea doesn't brew right. I have resolved to make my tea a little hotter. I don't want to scald my tongue..but maybe I will get an overall better effect..What say you tea experts??

The water used to infuse the tea MUST be boiling hot water, then you let rest your tea in the teapot until it is at the right temperature to drink.

@snowy22315 No, I do not use a tea warmer to cover the teapot. My husband drinks the tea soon after I have prepared it. I am not a tea drinker, I only love coffee.

I have heard that you should not pour boiling water over tea.

I hate having to wait a long time for the tea to cool down.

We always use boiling water. If you have milk that cools it down a little. With black tea, you just have to wait a while I guess - or add a little cold water.

Well it is popular here, but not like how it is overseas..Our allegiance is to coffee here. I remember being in London one time,,and at Heathrow airport..there was a coffeeshop that was entirely filled with tea pots..I thought how ironic lol.

Don't feel bad I drink soda every day although I have tried to cut back a bit. I drink alot of other things too, most of which are healthier.
