I would say that for the most part the heart wins over the mind. It takes time and trust to get over a bad experience but slowly the walls will come down and you are able to let somebody in.

Yes, but if you are in the situation and you are really really in love with this person, you will find it very hard to listen to your mind...even if your mind is right.
